TradeProof

Terms of service

Last updated 11 September 2026

These are the terms you agree to by using TradeProof. They are written to be read rather than to be impressive. If something here is unclear, ask and it will be explained or reworded.

Who you are agreeing with

TradeProof is run by Alex Allee, a sole proprietor based in Kansas. There is no company behind it yet — when that changes, this page changes with it.

What TradeProof does

TradeProof lets a contractor photograph a job before and after, send the customer proof of the work with an invoice and a payment link, and publish finished jobs to a public work page if they choose to.

It is a record-keeping and invoicing tool. It does not perform the work, inspect it, guarantee it, or vouch for anybody’s competence or licensing.

Your account

You need an account, because every job, photograph and invoice belongs to the person who created it and is kept separate from everyone else’s. Keep your login details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account.

You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and the details you give — business name, phone number — must be real, because they are shown to your customers on invoices.

What it costs

New accounts get one month free, with everything switched on and no card required. After that month, TradeProof is $49 a month, or $490 a year.

There is no free tier after the first month. Work you have already done stays available to you — past jobs, their photographs, and any invoice you have already sent keeps working and keeps collecting payment — but starting a new job needs a subscription.

Subscriptions are billed through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. Prices can change, and you will be told before a change affects you.

Cancelling, and refunds

You can cancel at any time, and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Payments already made are not refunded, including for part of a month you did not use.

The full policy, and the exceptions to it, are on the refund policy page.

Money your customers pay you

When a homeowner pays one of your invoices, that money is between you and them. It is handled by Stripe and paid to your own connected Stripe account, under Stripe’s terms. TradeProof takes no cut of it.

TradeProof is not a party to that transaction and does not hold your money. Disputes, chargebacks, refunds to your customers, and the tax on what you earn are between you, your customer, Stripe, and the relevant tax authority.

You are responsible for the work itself, for what you charge for it, and for any licence or insurance your trade requires.

Your photographs and your work

Your photographs and job records remain yours. TradeProof stores them so the product can show them to you, put them on the invoices you send, and build the graphics you ask it to build.

Nothing is published publicly unless you publish it. Publishing is done one job at a time and is off by default. When you publish a job, you are confirming you may show that customer’s property, and you give TradeProof permission to display those photographs on your public work page and in the contractor directory. Unpublishing removes it going forward.

You keep the right to use your own photographs anywhere else, for anything.

What you must not do

Do not upload photographs of work you did not do, or present someone else’s job as yours. The entire value of this product is that the record is true, and a fabricated one damages every honest contractor on it.

Do not upload anything unlawful, or anything you do not have permission to upload. Do not attempt to reach another user’s data, break the service, or use it to send unsolicited bulk messages.

An account doing any of these can be suspended or closed. Where it is practical to warn you first, you will be warned first.

Ending it

You can stop using TradeProof whenever you like, and you can ask for your account and its data to be deleted.

TradeProof can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or stop offering the service altogether. If the service is being shut down you will be given reasonable notice and a way to take your records with you.

What is not promised

TradeProof is provided as it is. It is not promised to be uninterrupted or error-free, and it is not a substitute for keeping your own records of work and payments.

To the extent the law allows, TradeProof is not liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost profit, lost work, lost data — and total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid in the twelve months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes to these terms

These terms can change. The date at the top says when they last did. If a change materially affects what you are paying for, you will be told before it takes effect, and continuing to use TradeProof after that means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, and any dispute belongs in the courts of Kansas.
